Downton Abbey To End Next Year As Cast Members Want To Try New Projects?
It could all be over for Downton Abbey as soon as next year.
The show will film its fifth series next year and is still one of the most popular programmes on TV.
However, the plug could be pulled as many of the cast members reportedly want to pursue other projects.

An insider has told The Mirror: “After five years on Downton, they are understandably excited at the prospect of taking up some of the roles coming their way.”
While the show’s bigwigs have said they have no plans to end the show, there are whispers that producers have said that next year’s Christmas epsiode will be the last for the period drama.
Another reason the show may come to a close is that paying all the actors is becoming too expensive. The source added: “It would simply be too costly to keep them all.”
This year’s Christmas episode is expected to draw in huge numbers as many still want to know who killed Anna’s rapist, will Mary move on from Matthew and will Edith keep her unborn baby?
We’ll have to tune in on Christmas Day to find out!
