Coldplay’s Chris Martin Rules Out Solo Career
Chris Martin has said a solo career would be ‘terrible’, because he relies on his Coldplay bandmates too much.
In a touching display of bromance, Mr Gwyneth Paltrow told Q of his appreciation for Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.
Of making music on his own, he said: “I’d just be terrible. I don’t think I could even get a gig in Butlins — and I’ve been to Butlins.
“I think me and my keyboard would be outside Woolworths most days, getting shouted at.”
That’s an extra sad image considering Woolworths closed in 2009.
He added of the rest of his colleagues: “They’re very good friends to me because they know that, as the singer, and especially because I’m married to Gwyneth Paltrow, I get eight times as much media as them. They know how much I need them, I just couldn’t do it on my own.”
Coldplay released the year’s fastest selling album in Mylo Xyloto last month, and will play a cluster of stadium dates next summer.
