Coldplay Arena Tour Sells Out In A Minute
Tickets for Coldplay’s forthcoming arena shows went on sale at 9:30am this morning… and were sold out before it was even 9:31.
It took seconds for tickets to be snapped up for three gigs in Glasgow, Manchester and London in December.
Fans who were unsuccessful have now launched an e-petition to stop touts purchasing large amounts of to sell for profit nearer the time.
Tickets have already begun appearing on eBay. One fan told a fansite: “I was on the mark as soon as Ticketmaster opened the screen. I attempted to purchase only to see that they were sold out. How could that be within a second of going on sale? I then went to eBay to see tickets galore at four and five times the face-value.”
The petition reads: “Tickets for concerts and sporting events are bought and immediately sold for massive profit. This means the ordinary fan has to pay not only a booking fee and a postage charge but a huge uplift from profiteers with no interest in the event.”
The gigs are in support of Coldplay’s new album Mylo Xyloto, out October 24.
