The last five days have undoubtedly been dreadful for Kesha after she was denied a request for an injunction releasing her of her contract with Sony and her allegedly abusive music producer Dr. Luke; however, thanks to the support of hundreds of Hollywood’s biggest names and many of the world’s most renowned musicians, Kesha couldn’t be more grateful.
She has finally spoken out on Instagram thanking everyone for the massive amounts of support last night, with an up-close photo of herself, writing QUOTE, “I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much. a statement too large for this format is coming….”
But prior to her Instagram post last night, what Kesha may not have expected coming her way was an overwhelming amount of help with her professional career on top of the support she’s already gained.
After Taylor Swift’s generous monetary donation, celebs like Jack Antonoff tweeted to Kesha that he’d help her further her career in the midst of the situation writing, “@kesharose — don’t know what the legal specifics are, but if you want to make something together & then leak it for everyone I’m around.” And in another tweet wrote, “@kesharose or just make something and wait on it till that creep can’t block you anymore. standing offer from me and everyone I work with.”
Later on, Zedd also offered his musical help, writing, “@KeshaRose very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”
Other celebs not in the music industry recently spoke out, one being Lena Dunham, who admits she was physically sick when hearing about the news, to which she penned a powerful essay about how Kesha’s case isn’t just about Kesha, but the failures in the American legal system.
Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon sided with Lena. Anne wrote on her Facebook page a heartfelt message, saying QUOTE, “If you are unfamiliar with the case, Lena Dunham does a brilliant job in this week’s Lenny explaining the nightmare in which Kesha finds herself. Kesha‘s situation is just one of all-too-many examples of how the legal system in this country fails to protect victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence, the vast majority of whom are women. Please share and add your voice and your support! #?FreeKesha,”
Reese also shared on her social media account, “Thank you @lenadunham for helping me understand@KeshaRose’s case & standing up for all survivors of abuse”
Since last week, Dr. Luke has spoken out on Twitter, attempting to deny all of Kesha’s allegations, but the amount of support Kesha has been receiving speaks volume and does not go unnoticed. So here’s to hoping everything works out in Kesha’s favor and that she can continue to make music! What are YOUR thoughts on Kesha’s case and the bigger issues at stake here?
