Chris Brown CANCELS Philippines NYE Concert After ‘Losing His Passport’

Chris Brown has disappointed thousands of fans after pulling out of a New Year’s Eve party he was due to host in the Philippines tonight, with reports claiming the singer has lost his passport.

The 25-year-old was expected to headline the NYE countdown concert at the Philippine Arena in Manila this evening to ring in 2015, however, he pulled out last minute and announced the news to his fans on Twitter, writing in a series of tweets: “#TeamBreezyManila! Due to unfortunate circumstances I can’t bring in the new year with you… Too bad since the Philippines Arena is one of the best arenas in the world! Stay tuned Team Breezy!!!!” He added: “#TeamBreezyManila I’ll see you in spring!”

Although Chris didn’t publicly offer an explanation for the sudden cancellation, Anthony Garcia Gacal, legal counsel of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), told ABS-CBN News.com that it was because he lost his passport so is unable to travel. “He came out with the reason that he lost his passport. That is why he won’t be able to perform tonight,” Gacal revealed, adding that they are planning on refunding those who no longer want to attend if the Loyal singer is no longer part of the concert.

Fans who were hoping to see Chris on stage are understandably devastated while others have joked about his no-show, speculating that he always had no intention of showing up at all. Check out some of the mixed Twitter reactions below:
