‘Bickering’ Matt Smith And David Tennant Tease Doctors’ Relationship In Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special

As the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special approaches, actors Matt Smith and David Tennant have opened up about their characters relationship on the show, with David admitted that they “bicker a bit”.

Speaking in a video interview with the BBC, Matt, who plays the current Doctor Who, said: “Our Doctors seem to get on quite well.”

David, who played the role of the iconic Time Lord in 2009, agreed before adding: “Yeah they do…They bicker a bit but they enjoy each other’s presence.”

Providing even more hints into the storyline, which has been kept hush hush, Matt, who was recently seen filming scenes for Doctor Who with Jenna Louise Coleman, said: “Then there is another character in there who we can’t really talk about who is just bemused by it.”

Meanwhile, fans will be pleased to hear that Matt Smith will be returning to the show when filming for the new series begins.

“I’m on a break for a couple of months while I’m in Detroit making How to Catch a Monster,” he revealed to The Sun.

Explaining when filming for the new series will take place, Matt continued: “We come back and shoot the Christmas special over the summer, then we go on to the next series, which will either start filming at the end of this year or at the start of 2014.”

Steven Moffat also confirmed the new series saying it was “definitely” in the works.

“It is real and it’s happening – it’s taking up most of my time at the moment,” Moffat told Digital Spy on the BAFTA red carpet.
