Beyonce Drops Surprise New Album Via iTunes
Beyonce has surprised fans and set off a huge frenzy by dropping a new album without any pre-hype via iTunes exculsively. The singer decided to keep the release quiet until the exact moment it was released, unveiling a new work which consists of 14 songs and 17 videos. Named simply ‘Beyonce’, the self-titled album’s release seems like a move away from the over-hyped work of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. Beyonce wrote on her Facebook page:
“I see music, it’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”
Beyonce added that she wanted to give the new album directly to the fans and skip the hype that often takes over the music. She was more interested in reaching those who love her music and giving it to them without any of the usual build-up or hype:
“I miss that immersive experience, now people only listen to a few seconds of song on the iPods and they don’t really invest in the whole experience. It’s all about the single, and the hype. It’s so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans. I felt like, I don’t want anybody to get the message, when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”
