Adele Faces £1,000 Baby Fine?
Adele must be one smitten mummy, the superstar has apparently been so busy falling in love with her new bundle of joy that she’s reportedly failed to register her baby within the 42-day legal deadline, leaving her with a £1,000 fine.
Adele gave birth 51 days ago on October 19 but registrars have confirmed to The Sun that neither she or fiancé Simon Konecki have made an appointment to register their son.
With the singer hiding away with her family throughout her pregnancy and since the birth, we imagine she’s simply enjoying lots of quality time with her little one. A source has confirmed that the singer has nothing to worry about though, despite her forgetfulness:
“Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it’s probably just an oversight on their part. Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it’s a nice thing to do – and because there’s a maximum fine of £1,000 if they don’t.”
“There’s loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don’t bother for ages.”
Apparently Adele and Simon can expect a couple of warning letters in the coming weeks and if the birth still hasn’t been logged within three months the registrar becomes liable and can be fined.
We’re sure Adele has some pocket change handy to cover her side of the fine….
