Despite being dropped by Simon Cowell’s Syco label just months after releasing his debut album, Joe McElderry has gone on to become one of The X Factor‘s most successful winners, scoring four Top 15 albums in the space of two years.
And today, when Cowell posted an epic message about cutting “negative people” out of one’s life, Joe couldn’t resist a cheeky comeback.
Simon wrote: “Time for bed. One piece of advice…cut all of the negative people out of your life and suddenly life gets better.”
Joe, who is known to be rather mild-mannered, quipped in response: “@SimonCowell amen to that! ;)”.
The Geordie’s last album Here’s What I Believe recently sailed into the Top 10 at No8, outperforming X Factor predecessor Alexandra Burke’s Heartbreak On Hold by a full ten places.
Matt Cardle, who has similarly parted ways with Cowell’s label, also surpassed poor Alexandra, landing at No7 with his new set The Fire.
Simon is said to be worried that Christopher Maloney will take this year’s X Factor crown, and earlier today pleaded with viewers to vote wisely.
