Will Lupita Nyong’o Play A Villain In Star Wars Episode VII?

There’s been a lot of drama on the Star Wars: Episode VII set lately, with leading man Harrison Ford involved in a nasty accident during shooting last week, which saw him airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. While Han Solo recovers, there has been some more news on characters and plots from JJ Abrams’ new chapter.

While Abrams has announced a bunch of exciting names for his cast, so far we have no idea who’s playing who, aside from the returning stars like Harrison of course.

Now on set sources have spilled some details to Making Star Wars, claiming that the film’s villains will be a trio of Jedi Hunters played by Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver and David Oyelowo.

This is just rumour at the moment but the insider notes: “The villains are said to be characterized by black and chrome with troopers in similar black and chrome uniforms,” calling the trio “imperial, but very new.”

Girls star Adam has long been linked to a more villainous role but this would be an interesting new direction for Oscar winner Lupita if the reports turn out to be true.

As for Oyelowo, he hasn’t been included in the initial round of cast announcements but it’s suspected that Abrams will release casting news steadily over the shooting schedule, so The Spooks star could well be in the movie.

As for the storyline of the new film, another source has claimed the plot follows an “outnumbered, tired and in need of help” Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill will be reprising his role), who has been spending the last 30 years trying to stop the Sith’s resurrection.

Another source claims the trio of villains are worshipers of the Sith, who want to resurrect them, with their main goal being to “protect the Sith at all costs and insure their survival.”
