Ray J Admits Sister Brandy ‘Is Upset’ Over Kim Kardashian Diss Track ‘I Hit It First’

Ray J didn’t only surprise his fans when he released his Kim Kardashian diss track ‘I Hit It First,’ admitting that his sister Brandy was “upset” that he took pot shots at her former best friend on the track.

The ‘One Wish’ singer reignited his music career earlier this month when he released the rather comical track, which alluded to his relationship with reality star Kim and the fact that she shot to fame following their infamous 2007 sex tape. While Ray J may have been pleased with his work, the singer says his sister Brandy was disappointed by the move.

“I gotta be honest with you, Brandy’s a bit upset. I haven’t talked to her because I know what type of lecture I’m going to get,” Ray J told Karen Civil.

“Brandy is a whole different type of person. She lives in a different kind of world. I’m way more turnt up, my lifestyle is way more on the edge. For her, a lot of things I do, she might not understand but I can say she has my back.”

“She is a little bit concerned and worried about the journey,” the singer continued. “But in every campaign I do, at the end of it, it always comes out with a positive message. It’s a beginning of a story that we are telling, there’s a middle and there’s a finale, so everyone has to stay tuned, including her.”

Meanwhile, Ray J is standing by his controversial track and says it was a move to promote his forthcoming material.

“Of course, it’s a record that has a lot of controversy to it. We can’t deny that. From an independent marketing strategy, we felt it was the perfect way to impact and set up all the different projects we have coming out,” he says.

“It’s a song. I do songs all of the time but this is like one of my first songs where every lyric I had to explain where I was going with the record, cause I don’t want to say no names.

“The main mission for this campaign is to not say no names because again, even though the song is edgy, and the song is intense and some people think it’s over the top, we want to be respectable — especially in these interviews. I don’t really know what’s going on with the other party or with other people who may feel like they are involved in the record,” he continued.
