Michael Douglas And Catherine Zeta Jones ‘Split After 13-Year Marriage’?

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones are reported to have split after being married for 13 years.

The Hollywood couple have long been regarded as having one the strongest marriages in Hollywood, but according to insiders, the golden couple, who have not been pictured in public together for four months, are set to announce their split soon.

A source revealed to The Mirror newspaper that the alleged break up is down to the Behind the Candelabra actor – who it’s claimed has had enough of the marriage.

“Michael is going to announce the split soon. Catherine is fighting to save the marriage but he’s had it.”

According to the paper, a rep for Michael neither denied or confirmed the news, only commenting: “I won’t talk about that.”

EntWise have also contacted Catherine’s rep for further comments.

It has been a turbulent few years for the married couple. Michael was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2011, while Catherine voluntarily checked herself in to a clinic in May to get treatment for her bipolar disorder.

Speaking on her husband’s courage during his cancer battle, Catherine told Stella magazine earlier this year: “I wasn’t as strong as I thought I could have been. I look back and I can’t believe the strength he had.”

However, rumours earlier this week that the pair are gearing up for a $300 million divorce battle were rubbished by sources close to the Hollywood pair, who insisted divorce has never been on the cards.

“Divorce would be the final straw,” a source told Grazia magazine, adding: “It would be too damaging for the children and a strain on both of them emotionally and health wise.”
