Arnold Schwarzenegger never planned to tell Maria Shriver about his secret love child, but was forced into a humilating admission after she confronted Arnie’s long-time mistress, Mildred Baena, who first told Maria the truth.
Arnie has found himself embroiled in one of the biggest scandals of recent times, following his public admission that he had impregnated his former housekeeper nearly 14 year ago.
As RadarOnline reports, Maria demanded to know whether Mildred’s son was in fact Arnie’s – and when she was told it was, then went to confront the former Governor of California.
Arnie’s official statement at the time they announced their separation read: “After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.”
However, according to one source: “Maria has suspected this for a long time and she asked the housekeeper. The housekeeper admitted it.
“Maria then went to Arnold and he confessed.”
Another source said: “It’s amazing she didn’t crack before this.”
It now appears that stories of Mildred being dismissed by Maria are not true, and that she did indeed retire in January, with yet another source saying: “Yes, her employment ended, but it ended without animosity.”
The final word goes to a friend of Mildred’s, who said: “She was upset with Arnold at the time and didn’t know what to do, she thought about going public, but it was a fleeting thought. Ultimately she didn’t want to hurt Arnold. But she also didn’t want her employment to end.
“It was a difficult situation.”
