‘But I’m Superman!’ Dean Cain Pokes Fun At New Man Of Steel Henry Cavill On Jimmy Kimmel (VIDEO)

Henry Cavill is currently wowing critics and audiences as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel but one person isn’t so impressed with the Brit star’s take on the role; Dean Cain has poked fun at his replacement on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Cain starred as the caped hero in the 90’s TV series Lois & Clark but it sounds like no one told the hunky star that he’s been replaced! The actor made a good humoured appearance on this week’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in the states, even donning that famous cape!

As the chat show host chatted about Man of Steel, he was interrupted by Dean who was sitting in the audience. The actor joked that he hadn’t heard about the new Superman movie before insisting he had to get down to the set. Pulling out a cape, the actor was let down when he learned Cavill had already landed the high flying role.

Questioning whether Henry had to don the same costume, Dean asked Jimmy “Does he wear the red underwear like I did?”

Meanwhile Dean’s rival Henry has revealed that he was devasted when he lost out on another high profile role years ago. The Man of Steel was in the frame for James Bond, alongside Daniel Craig when the part came up for renewal after Pierce Brosnan departed the franchise.

Craig of course went on to win the role, something which stung for Henry at the time:

“When I wasn’t selected for Bond, I was very disappointed,” he told Nuts magazine. “I’d turned down a leading role in 300 because it was down to Daniel Craig and me, and auditioning for Bond took all my focus.

“The choice was between a younger Bond and one closer to his 40’s, which is to say, Daniel Craig. But I’ve seen what Daniel did and I think the Bond producers made the right choice. He’s fantastic.”

Man of Steel is in UK cinemas now.
