Beyonce Adds Extra Dates To 2014 UK Tour After Selling More Than 550,000 Copies Of New Album In One Day

Beyonce may have toured the world once this year but it seems there are still plenty who want to see the diva in action as the singer has been forced to add extra dates to the upcoming 2014 leg of her ‘Mrs. Carter Show’ tour.

The ‘Partition’ songstress, who unexpectedly released her fifth studio album on Friday, will be embarking on a new leg of the mammoth jaunt around the UK from February following a successful stint earlier this year, and it seems demand has been extremely high for the new batch of shows as the star has now added three extra dates to the trek after tickets went on sale this morning.

Beyonce, 32, will now play an extra date at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena on February 21, a second show at Birmingham’s LG Arena on February 24 and a further night at Manchester’s Phones 4U Arena on February 26.

Demand has been increased with Beyonce releasing her highly-anticipated new album suddenly on Friday without prior warning, surprising fans and her celebrity peers alike.

The album boasts 17 new songs including collaborations with Drake, Frank Ocean, husband Jay Z and even daughter Blue Ivy while the likes of Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Miguel and Timbaland are included on the writing and production credits.

Along with the album, Beyonce has kindly treated fans to 17 music videos for each song on the record as well as visuals for extra tracks which didn’t make the final tracklist including ‘Grown Woman’ and ‘Ghost.’

The album has stormed charts already, currently at number five on the official UK chart after just two days, number one on the US iTunes chart and is reported to have sold more than 550,000 copies in just one day in America. Beyonce will be supported by new X Factor winner Sam Bailey on the upcoming UK tour and tickets are on sale now.
