The punk theme which ran throughout the 2013 MET Gala seemed to encourage those in attendance to get more experimental than normal with their hair/makeup and of course, clothes. Here is a look at 6 of the most dramatic beauty looks that the red carpet had to offer. From intense smoky eyes to white hair and cateye flicks, celebrities weren’t afraid to alter their usual appearance for the once-off night. Dakota Fanning and January Jones both showed off some artistically applied dark eyeliner, while Ginnifer Goodwin took the look further by applying a dark smoky eyeshadow all the way up to the brow – Jessica Pare had a similarly smoky eye look done in a navy shade to match her outfit.

 Lily Collins added blue streaks to her hair and emphasized her signature eyebrows with striking 80s inspired makeup, while Nicole Richie took the biggest style risk of all by turning her usual chestnut locks into a white quiff hairdo.
