5 Stars Open Up on Pubic Hair Grooming

Yep, it’s true – we live in an age of TMI (too much information) and some stars never know where to draw the line! These 5 celebrities have gotten detailed about their adventures with pubic hair grooming or lack there of. Cameron Diaz recently courted controversy by penning an entire chapter on the subject matter (a paragraph wasn’t enough?) in her new well being book, while Gwyneth Paltrow has previously spoken on her 70s style bush that even made headlines last year. Going public with stories about their own grooming (thankfully at least some of them were relevantly discussing a new film), these stars have opened up on how tidy they keep stuff “down there”.

Rooney Mara

"Her" Los Angeles Premiere - Arrivals

Rooney had to wear a pubic wig for her part if ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’:  “There was a lot of discussion that went into my merkin for the movie, because I was naked quite a lot. And I don’t think a lot of people will notice all of the attention that went into that. But there was a lot of discussions around that.”

Sandra Bullock
25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival - Arrivals

Sandra attempted to dye her pubic hair but it didn’t go well: “I decided for Valentine’s Day I would do a special hair thing. I wanted to try to create a pink heart shape with my lower hair. It was painful. You had to bleach it first. There’s something about bleach that feels like acid. Then I had to shave it. I was in so much pain, but I kept going and put the pink dye on and it went the wrong colour.”

Gwyneth Paltrow
Gene Siskel Film Center Honored Gwyneth Paltrow with the Renaissance Award at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago - June 15, 2013

Famously wearing a side-split dress which required some grooming, Gwyneth commented on all of the reports that she has a 70s-style bush: “You know normally I don’t read stuff at all but apparently this was in like a lot of newspapers. My brother-in-law, I knew it had permeated when my brother-in-law said to me like, ‘I hope you’re not going to bring back big bush.’ Thanks, Al. Thanks for your support.”

Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz Launches Tag Heuer Link Watch Event to Raise Money for UN Women and New York Cares Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort

Cameron doesn’t know why people like a hairless look: “I hear that there’s a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal on all of their lady bits. Personally, I think permanent laser hair removal sounds like a crazy idea. Forever? I know you may think you’ll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won’t. The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon, and all fads change, people.”

Daniel Radcliffe
57th Annual BFI London Film Festival - "Kill Your Darlings" Screening - Arrivals

Daniel was asked not to trim his for a role: “I’m comfortable with my body. It’s funny, actually, I’ve just been having a discussion with the guy who’s directing my new project. It might have a bit of nudity and he said, ‘Just to let you know, if you’re getting naked, no landscaping of any kind. This is the ’40s and you’re playing a Jew.’ I was like, ‘Pretty much there anyway, mate! Not a huge amount of maintenance going on.’ I mean, there’s a little bit, obviously, for courtesy.”
