5 Celebs Who Say They’re Total Control Freaks
Saying they need a lot of control over their situations in order to feel comfortable, these 5 stars have candidly admitted that they are control freaks sometimes. Some like to plan ahead and need to be in charge – be it just on a date, their career or even what the media say about them. They like to feel as though they are in the person who makes all of the important decisions. Miley Cyrus admits she needs full control over her career and feels bad when she doesn’t, while Kelly Rowland embarrassingly admits that she needs control over her date and likes to plan everything. They all have their quirks when it comes to taking the lead – here is what these 5 stars have to say on always taking control.
Kelly likes to control everything, especially on a date: “When I’m on a date, I’m very in charge. It’s like, ‘Hello my name is Kelly and I’m a bit of a control freak!’ Even when I go to dinner with my friends, I say, ‘OK, we’ll all order this and this and this, and I want this day to run like this’.”
Kristen has tried to control what people think of her in the past: “As soon as I stopped trying to control everything that came out of my mouth and every picture of me that came out, that’s when I became so much happier. It wasn’t like some big turning point, I’ve just grown into being able not to care as much. I realise that I’m not going to be able to influence the way everybody perceives me.”
Michael was put off during a performance by Simon Cowell and admits that he wasn’t drunk as the media speculated because he is to controlling to drink before singing: “If you watch the clip on YouTube, I’m so aloof I look bored. And it became quite a thing for me in America because all the news agencies started to report that I was drunk. But I’m such a control freak I would never drink before going on stage.”
Michelle tries to control every part of her life and finds it hard to balance work and home: ”I think all women who work and have families struggle with finding the right balance. I’m such a control freak and I was able to juggle a lot until I had my first child. It was a rude awakening for me. It was the first time in my life I couldn’t do everything. I realised at that point that a person could have it all, but they can’t do it all. That’s a really hard adjustment for me. But there’s nothing more unpredictable and harder and humbling than being a parent.”
Miley likes to have complete control over her career: “As a singer, it’s the scariest thing in the world when you know there’s nothing you can do if you’re sick, you have no control, and I’m a control freak… so I was really stressed out because I was on vocal rest and then I woke up and I couldn’t move my neck for some reason… It is the worst! I woke up feeling, like, 95… but I’ve had an amazing recovery. I got vitamins and all that. It’s amazing when you start taking care of your body, how quick it’ll get back (to normal).”
