Hayden Panettiere

23rd Annual Environmental Media Awards - Arrivals

Hayden likes to try new things and decided to get a pixie cut on a whim: “It wasn’t scary. I’m pretty spontaneous. I like abrupt changes – it excites me. I love it – it’s daring and it’s easier for me. You always try and find your own sense of style, so when I chopped my hair off I felt like I was my own self my own way. I didn’t feel like I was trying emulate anyone. I felt very me.”

Shailene Woodley
Elle Magazine 20th Annual "Women In Hollywood" Event

Shailene has always wanted to try the look so she went for it: ”I wear so many more scarves. Having short hair reveals to you why it’s so important to cover your neck up, because it gets cold! It’s incredible. Not having hair, the lack of hair, even the weight on your head, reveals so much about your body’s chemistry I cannot even tell you. I love it. It’s so easy, man, I’ve always wanted to cut my hair … So it’s exciting to be able to just be free and chop it off.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal
The Lunchbox Fund's 2013 Fall Fete and Feedie Launch - Arrivals

Maggie cut her hair for ‘Frank’ and loved the result so much that she decided to keep the pixie cut: “I loved it in the movie… I thought, ‘I’m gonna live like this forever,’ and then I got home and I was like, ‘What was I thinking?’ So I cut it really short and I really like it now.”

Jennifer Lawrence
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" New York City Special Screening - Arrivals

Jennifer made big headlines when she chopped her locks: ”I feel masculine, yes! It’s so easy when I get out of the shower… I’m so bad at doing anything feminine, so this is perfect for me! Can you ever imagine? If anyone wants to know the weirdest thing, it’s getting your hair cut and seeing it on the news. Terrorists probably knew about my haircut. I can blow-dry my hair in two minutes. It’s awesome.”

Miley Cyrus
"Britney: Pieces of Me" Grand Opening at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas - Arrivals

Miley is happy and doesn’t care what other people say about her hair: “My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, ‘opinions are are like a–holes –everybody has one.’ LOVE my hair. Feel so happy, pretty, and free.”
