5 Celebrities Who’ve Had Life-Changing Experiences
Having an experience that changes your life can really flip how you view the way you are, live your life or feel. These 5 stars were strongly affected by their own personal experiences and say something has changed in them since going through it. Some went on trips where they saw poverty or injustice, others had a brush with death that made them appreciate living, and some say welcoming their first child is when it all spun around for them. Here are 5 stars their personal life-changing stories that altered how they are as people to this day.
Jane almost died after an allergic reaction to antibiotics: “I saw the white light and I saw, from the corner of the room, them trying to resuscitate me and I saw a syringe with blood in it. It did change my whole life because, when you die, I realised you take nothing with you except for what you’ve done.”
Eva said that she found her trip to Sierra Lione shocking: ”I knew I was in for a life-changing experience. This experience has profoundly affected me. I was so shocked and saddened to learn the extent of gender-based violence taking place in Sierra Leone every day and that trip has made me want to be a part of the solution.”
Gisele says giving birth to her son was her biggest life-changing moment: “Giving birth was the most intense and life-changing experience of my life… I never felt so vulnerable but so strong at the same time. When he finally was placed into my arms, I looked into his precious eyes and felt an overwhelming, unconditional love. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. ‘We did it! We did it together!’ He and I. I never felt so complete and empowered in my life.”
Katy believes her life was changed after a visit to Madagascar:”It (the trip) changed my life. It really kind of reprioritised my thinking, and my whole approach on life. I was going through a transition in my life, where I felt like I had been suppressed and emotionally toyed with – and I went there (Madagascar), and I was like, ‘I have nothing to compare my situation to’. It made me feel very grateful, but also very aware.”
Kim found a trip to Haiti really affected her: “As some of you know, my mom and I flew out to Haiti earlier this month to meet with Maria Bello and embark on an amazing journey together in Haiti. Our mission was to learn more about Maria’s charity, We Advance, meet the Haitian people who have made such amazing progress since the devastating earthquake in 2010, and celebrate the women of Haiti, who inspired me more than I ever could have anticipated… My experience was completely life-changing… a very emotional and surprisingly positive journey that I will never forget… The National Enquirer wrote that I went to a fashion show in Haiti and then spent a fortune pampering myself! The truth is that I was at the Haitian Artisan Fair, where the amazing men and women who make their jewellery and crafts sell them to visitors to make a living, and I bought some of their beautiful jewellery after the fashion show!!… I think it’s important that I share my experiences with you all, rather than you read false reports in the media. I have some really great stories and photos from my trip and I’m so excited to share them with you all!”
