5 Celebrities Who Say Fame Has Ruined Their Love Life
Believing that their fame has actually decreased their chances of finding love, these celebrities say that being in the spotlight has hurt and even ruined their love lives. Some find it hard to trust people because of their fame and thus find it difficult to find someone they can let in to their lives without being paranoid about their intentions. Others are worried by how their would-be partners would be affected if they were dating them and say they would prefer not to put someone in that difficult situation because they believe it would put a strain on their relationship and would be unfair. Here are 5 celebrities who say they’re finding it hard to maintain a love life because of their fame!
Idris Elba
Idris says that since becoming famous, his love life has become more complicated: ”Look, you probably think I’m s***ging all the time. But there’s no way. They’re all my fans. I miss the days when me and my boys could go to a barbecue, and go, ‘Who’s that shorty [girl] over there?’ ”
Emma says it’s hard because everyone always assumes she’s dating whoever she is seen with: “It’s difficult on my dating life because anyone I get photographed with is automatically my boyfriend. So it just makes it look like I’ve had like, 6,000 boyfriends.”
Robert thinks it difficult because he always worries about the people he dates: “I’m always really worried about ruining their (girlfriends) lives. Especially with people that aren’t famous. It’s such a massive change. I’m kind of a paranoid wreck. It’s getting photographed. You have people who analyse your facial expressions to the tiniest degree. So you’re just trying to avoid getting photographed. You’re like, ‘Jesus, you can’t win.'”
Gerard says it’s more difficult because he doesn’t trust anyone: “I get laid less now than I used to, because I’m way more paranoid now. I’m nowhere near as naughty as I used to be, partly because I did a lot of that when I was drinking.”
Jennifer is finding it hard to build relationships because of her fame: “My personal life is now ruined. I’ve had to create a new one and get used to this new life, It’s hard and it takes time, but I’m sure I will get it. I’m just mourning my old life. I miss that. I don’t want to forget what it’s like going to a coffee shop and people looking at me like a normal person. A part of me can’t get used to it and it makes me sad.”
