5 Celebrities Who Have Their Own Vegetable Gardens
Deciding to grow their own instead of buying veg at the supermarket, these 5 celebrities all have their own vegetable gardens. Some like to watch how their food is grown so they know it’s all totally organic produce, while others are taking steps to live a greener life and want to do their bit to be sustainable. Some just enjoy the relaxing time out in the garden as they tend to their growing seeds!
Nicole has a big garden planned with her family: “We just planted our vegetables for the summer and all we have at the moment is lettuce. I’m hoping the corn will be beautiful, because I love eating corn out of the garden.”
Pink loves getting her hands dirty in the garden: “I have an organic vegetable garden with four raised beds. I grow cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, jalapeno peppers, spinach, kale and chillies. I also grow sunflowers, marigolds and herbs like basil and marjoram. I like to get out there in my wellies. It’s very punk rock to be out in a yard growing your own food.”
Daryl is committed to eco-friendly living and encourages everyone to grow their own: “I sense that youth culture has taken up the call. Almost everybody could grow seeds in their garden or on their window. All that stuff that poisons the air, the soil and the water – it should be against the fricking law!”
A source close to Kate has revealed that she wants a big veg garden in her country home: ”Kate is really serious about country living. She’s having a vegetable patch designed and converting one of her posh barns into a hen house. She wants a compost heap for recycling food waste and loves chatting at the local farmers market. She only eats organic food but wants to grow her own.”
Sarah grows her own fruit and veg: “I sound like an old granny, but I’ve really got into gardening and I’ve been growing my own veggies. I’ve bought these old barrels and I grow organic fruit and veg in them. Garlic, onions, lettuce, carrots, strawberries, raspberries – the lot. I started it after watching a TV show about gardening. I wanted to start eating more organic stuff and I had the space to grow my own, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ But I don’t think you’ll be seeing the Sarah Harding Organic Range Of Vegetables any time soon!”
