24: Live Another Day Launches With 588,000 Viewers As Jack Bauer Returns

24 returned to our screens this week and viewers immediately took to Twitter to voice their positive opinions on the episode, with critics also praising it online and the figures have now been revealed to back it up, with almost 600,000 people tuning in last night.

The first episode of the new series, titled 24: Live Another Day, aired on Sky1 last night (May 7) and it sees Jack Bauer, who is played by Kiefer Sutherland, head to the UK to keep an eye on the US president, with the episode being shot in London.

However, in true 24 style, it is questionable as to whether Jack is actually planning on assassinating the president or protecting him.

And it looks like the storyline went down a treat, as 588,000 viewers tuned in at 9pm, according to overnight figures.

Kiefer has been busy promoting the new series, with him taking to Twitter to also thank fans for their kind remarks following the show, posting: “Back to work early and I can’t thank you enough for all the kind messages. It’s just started and only going to get better, I promise. #24LAD” (sic)
