His rockstar fashion line is worldwide success, and he still dresses well at 40, so when Liam Gallagher claimed that ‘clothes are important, man,’ we weren’t all that surprised.
The British musician reckons he is more qualified when it comes to clothing than many professional designers in the fashion industry, especially since making it big with his label Pretty Green.
The brand has made a turnover of 4 million in its first year alone and is so popular that it is set to launch on the international market soon. Surprisingly, the former wild man of Brit band Oasis, is a self-confessed shopaholic and says his love of clothes is all the background training he needed to launch is own fashion emporium.
He told The Telegraph newspaper: "I haven't got a favourite brand, I haven't got a favourite designer. I like what I like.’’
"I spend a lot of money on clothes so I know my s**t. In fact, I probably spend more on clothes than 90 per cent of these fashion people because they get it all for nowt," he added.
Liam’s line features his own staple fashion favourites including retro parkas and polo tops as well as carefully cut denim and plenty of on-trend yet vintage style paisley prints.
And his role in the production is to maintain the high specification that he expects on all garments that go out with his name labelled across them.
He continued: "If it isn't cool it gets binned. I know people might buy it anyway and not everyone's me, but that's how it is: you've got to look at every detail, otherwise you'll end up selling s**t.''
Liam’s style moto is all about looking ‘’cool,’’ and we think he looks great for it at 40. He does think his time will come when he has to ditch the trendy clothes, however, commenting, "Mick Jagger, he's done his time now, hasn't he? So he's wearing lovely, nice loafers and his feet are comfortable."
"As long as you look cool and you've got your own head of hair, that's all I care about." We couldn’t agree more!
Liam also hit out at footballer Wayne Rooney for getting a hair transplant in the same interview, saying that he looks like a f**king balloon with Weetabic crushed on top. Fair shout...
