Amy Winehouse's Father Slams Fashion Show Inspired By Late Singer

Says it was 'bad taste'...

Earlier this week Jean Paul Gaultier's models took to the catwalk in Amy Winehouse-inspired style complete with the backing track at Paris Fashion Week and her father has said it was "in bad taste".

Mitch Winehouse claimed that the family had been "upset" to see that the designer had used models that were in Amy's familiar style.

Talking to The Sun, the 60-year-old said: "The family were upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock. We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six month anniversary of Amy's death."

He also added: "To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on."

Models at the show were given the 'Back To Black' singer's signature beehive style as well as Amy's heavy eyeliner and some even smoked cigarettes.

Mitch said that the designer had not been in touch with the family ahead of the show, or even with the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

"No one asked us for permission or offered to make a donation to the foundation," he said.

The former taxi driver claimed that he was proud of the way that his late daughter, who died suddenly in July last year, had influenced fashion but also accused Gaultier of using her when "she was not at her best".

"We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste," he explained.

"It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best and glamorises some of the more upsetting times in her life. That's upsetting for her family."
