Sarah Jessica Parker shocked crowds at the Met Ball on Monday night (May 6) as she turned up on the red carpet wearing an elaborate gold head piece with a mohawk attached.
The Sex and the City star stayed true to the theme of 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' by donning the oversized black mohawk-style Philip Treacy head piece, along with thigh-high velvet Louis Vuitton tartan boots.
Eccentric designer Philip Treacy has been known for his infamous head pieces that have graced the heads of dare-devil fashionistas all over, including the controversial nude number Princess Beatrice wore to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.

SJP's fashion-loving alter ego Carrie Bradshaw seems to seep through occasionally when the 48-year-old steps out onto a red carpet. One of the most loved TV characters of all time knew how to turn heads when experimenting with new outfits, and the mum of three definitely managed to do that at the Met Ball.
The actress's slightly oriental floral Giles Deacon gown made photographers and fellow red carpet stars gasp further when SJP hoisted up the front layers to walk up the stairs and flashed crowds with her black lace underwear through the very high central slit in the gown.
Whether or not intentional, the moment of shock soon passed as everybody slowly processed SJP's ensemble and began to love it as the star embraced her inner Carrie.
Even Jennifer Lawrence- one of the coolest actresses of the moment- loved her crazy style as she playfully stroked SJP's mohawk.
