In my "humble" opinion Stephenie Meyers "Twilight" (although a good book) cannot be compared to a gothic novel !!! I don't think the movie is that "original", only some aspects of it. I agree on "it’s more The O.C. than Nosferatu", it's a teen female movie. Although I must admit the lead actors did a great job (as mentioned a "mature performance").
