Cheryl Cole's former mother-in-law Sue has allegedly branded the star's account of her break up with Ashley Cole in her recent biography as “b*******” and that until recently Cheryl wanted her former husband back.
In the book Cheryl claimed that Ashley had been a complete mess following their break up and even claims he seemed to suffer a “mental breakdown”, allegations Sue, 52 is reported to have branded false.
“Sue's been telling everyone Cheryl's book 'is all b*****ks!'” a source told Now magazine.
Sue is said to be “absolutely livid” over the claims and is urging her son to write up his account of the split in order to “set the record straight”.
He has already penned one book, 'My Defence' released in 2006 however, Cheryl and Ashley didn't split for good until 2009.
The insider added that until “very recently” Cheryl wanted her former flame back. The 'Call My Name' star is currently dating dancer Tre Holloway, but until last year was still rumoured to be close to her ex husband.
In a recent interview with Glamour mag she defended the footballer against his 'love rat' reputation.
She claimed: "There's this perception that Ashley is an arrogant pr**k, but he's really not. We talk occasionally and I would say we are friends."
The couple split in 2009 after three years of marriage.
Just last year, Ashley Cole's mother and brother were both seen attending Cheryl Cole's birthday party.
