Beyonce has declared that she won't be starring in Clint Eastwood's remake of 'A Star Is Born', the movie that has been remade in various versions, each often regarded as a Hollywood classic.
The 31-year-old was set to star as Esther in the new movie, but told E! News: “I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood. "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."
However, now that the 'Bootylicious' star is a no no, who could replace her? Well first of all whoever it is needs to be able to sing as well as act.
The role requires its performer to play a young aspiring singer (Esther), started out on the road to stardom as an actress seduced by an ageing actor, before Esther reaches the very top of stardom, winning an Oscar.
Previous incumbents include Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand, so what is really required is an A-List star at the height of their acting and vocal powers, although the role does allow for a bit of versatility, following as it does a young starlet all the way to burnt out superstar.
Could sexiest woman alive Mila Kunis take the role? Well she sung on That 70s Show, but has since been overdubbed on Family Guy singing parts, so may have to have a few lessons.
Rihanna is looking to get into acting, although her debut in 'Battleship' flopped, so perhaps one of the popular starlets with proven singing experience could have a pop. Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus could all be in with a shout if youth is no bar, although Lea Michelle may have the credentials to trump them.
However, Garland was 32 when she took the role so maybe someone a bit older could be in order.
For a genuine A-List choice Clint could go for Reese Witherspoon or Kate Winslet, both Oscar winners who've proved to have astounding voices.
Finally perhaps as a left field choice, Lady GaGa? after all she's often compared to Madonna, who no doubt would be chomping at the bit for the role if she was a few years younger.
As such, we've taken a look at exactly who should replace Bey in the new movie...
