New movie 'Holy Motors' marks a bit of a departure for Kylie Minogue, after all we're used to seeing the singer in outrageous outfits belting out her catchy hits like 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
Even as an actress, her most famous role is possibly as dungaree clad Charlene in Neighbours, yet 'Holy Motors', couldn't be further from her origins in the soap that used to fill Saturday tea times.
A surreal film by Leos Carax, it follows a character played by Denis Lavant, who travels around Paris in his limousine taking on various guises, including one that kidnaps a model played by Eva Mendes. Minogue plays a character called Eva Grace, who reminisces about romance through a show tune.

So far, so confusing, so we'll leave the appraisal of the movie to the critics, many of whom gave it 5 stars when it showed at the Cannes Film Festival, and instead focus on Kylie, who looked her usual stunning self in a floor length shimmering black gown.
Her famous derierre was even on display, as Kylie strolled down the red (in this case green) carpet.
Alongside her was director Carax, looking particular nonchalant with a cigarette.
So here's to 'Holy Motors', no doubt totally bonkers, but it seems winning over movie goers and Kylie back to acting.
