Scottish singer Emeli Sande is expected to marry her long-term boyfriend, marine biologist Adam Gouraguine today.
Heading to the homeland of her beau, Montenegro, the 24-year-old is following the likes of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds by trying to keep the ceremony as private as possible.
"Emeli is getting married and we are flying out. It's for friends and family and we are trying to keep it as private as possible," said an insider.
It was the chart-topper's dad, Joel, who let the cat out the bag when he tweeted: “Just about to embark on a 4hr flight to hand my older daughter’s hand in marriage. Feels surreal but great. Here’s hoping everything goes to plan.”
The couple first met in Aberdeen and have been dating for seven years. Adam is very supportive of her career and in January Emeli confirmed she was engaged after she was spotted wearing a ring.
It's been an incredible year for the artist who has had numerous global hits from her debut album, Our Version Of Events, and even performed the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies.
A friend told The Daily Record that Emeli might pick up the microphone at her own wedding saying, “She loves to entertain. There is every chance she’ll have a song in her heart.”
