Katie Holmes sat down with Elle Magazine back in mid-May for a revealing pre-split interview with the August edition of the magazine and now, looking back the Hollywood star definitely hinted that a split may be on the horizon.
The actress looks amazing on the front cover of the popular womens mag, working a sultry look and showing off some fab cheek bones. However, the interview was pretty deep and some of the quotes, looking back now, hinted that a split was definitely looming.
“I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin,” Holmes told Elle when asked about being in her 30s."
“I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out,” she said, before adding, “I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase."
“He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
The star then went on to say that she actually has to push harder now for roles, despite the showbiz couple's superstar status...
“Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances,” she said.
Since the split, the couple have now reached an agreement just 11 days after Katie filed for divorce in New York and the actress is said to be 'very happy.'
Sources have told Us Weekly that Katie will have primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri.
"She won and is happy. Very happy," a source close to the 33-year-old told the magazine. "She can move on and finally live her life."
