Naomi Watts looks uncannily like the late Diana, Princess of Wales as she emerges on set for the movie based on the last two years of her life 'Caught In Flight' in Croatia earlier today (July 2).
The star has spent the last few weeks preparing for the starring role in the biopic which will centre on the princess' failed romance with heart surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan as well as her relationship with Dodi Al Fayed and her death in Paris age 36.
The star's hair and make-up looked spot on as she recreated a red carpet scene and has managed to emulate the late princess' shy, doe eyed expression perfectly.
Speaking of the iconic role, the Australian star admitted she had been initially reluctant to take on such a famous role. “She is a part of our history, an incredible woman and fascinating but a tragic ending,” she said according to The Mail Online.
“The film-makers came to me and it’s a good script and it’s very scary and I kind of wanted to say ‘no’ but I couldn’t.”
Lost star Naveen Andrews, who plays Dr Khan in the movie praised Naomi as a choice to play the princess.
“I don’t think anyone else could have done it - there’s no one else,” he said according to the Mail Online.
He added: "Whenever you work, usually if something has a chance or the potential to be good it usually starts with a good script and I’m very happy with the script and Naomi is doing it and she’s wonderful... I’m very much looking forward to shooting."
There has been no official word what the late Diana's family or sons, Prince William and Harry feel about the depiction of their mother's private life on screen.
