Swedish Rihanna fans took to Twitter this morning slamming her performance at the Peace & Love Festival in Sweden, unaware that it was likely that last night she was hiding secret pain, as it emerged this morning that her beloved grandmother 'Gran Gran Dolly' had died.
The Rihanna family matriarch had been battling cancer - so it is possible Rihanna will have had an inkling that her granny was gravely ill and close to death.
She arrived on stage 45 minutes late for her performance and then compounded the error by continually addressing the Swedish crowd as Norwegian. Perhaps their can be no excuse for Rhianna's behaviour, as many fans walked out and couldn't believe that she had been allowed to perform that intoxicated.
Fans claimed that her terrible state must have been due to intoxication, with some alleging that she was on drugs. One fan Tweeted: "Really don’t feel like watching Rihanna under the influence gig. Who the f*** allowed her on stage in this state?"
Another confirmed that many had walked out due to her shambolic state: "Crowd walk-out from #Rihanna concert at #peaceandlove #pal12 #Sweden claiming she's too high to sing properly."
Whether it was secret grief or party substances, one thing's for sure, Rhianna has to pull herself together or risk losing her status as one of the world's most loved pop stars.
