Tom Cruise has revealed that plans for a new 'Top Gun' movie are moving at a fair pace, with work already being done on a script for a new film.
The original 'Top Gun' established Cruise as a fully paid up member of the Hollywood A-List, and still has a place in movie lovers' hearts over 25 years since it was first released.
At the premiere for his latest movie 'Rock of Ages' he revealed that although nothing is completely finished, he's working with others to get things sorted and his character Pete "Maverick" Mitchell back in the air.
When asked about the prospective new movie the star said: "Yeah we're working on a script, if we can figure it out, we haven't figured it out yet."
Fans will be delighted to hear that a return for Cruise as "Maverick" is very close, and with Cruise admitting that he's helping to ensure the movie gets off the drawing board and on to the screen, that becomes a much more likely prospect.
