They are hot, blonde and just happen to be in the new ‘Rock Of Ages’ movie so you would be forgiven for thinking there is a little bit of rivalry between Malin Akerman and Julianne Hough and it seems to be spilling over to the red carpet as they battle for the spotlight.
23 year-old Julianne Hough, who plays a waitress and aspiring singer in the movie may not be a household name but the blonde dancer turned actress is already well known in Hollywood thanks to her brother Dancing With The Stars hunk Derek Hough and her romance with TV host and producer Ryan Seacrest.
As the actress steps into the spotlight for the first time on her own she has made sure all eyes were on her. The star wowed in a daring yellow slashed dress at the LA premiere last week, followed up by a low cut black mini dress in London yesterday.
Julianne's Red Carpet Looks
Despite not being alive when the movie was based, the ‘Footloose' star has embraced eighties power rock and in particular her romantic co-star Tom Cruise.
“I have to say, [I] think he’s way more hot now than I think he’s [ever been.] But then again I like older men,” she told Access Hollywood.
Not to be outdone by her younger rival, Malin has been pretty risqué in her red carpet choices as well wearing a black floor length gown with thigh high split in Los Angeles and a sheer-nude dress with only leaf detailing to cover her modesty at yesterday’s UK premiere.

Surprise, surprise her scenes with leading man Mr Cruise, who plays womanizing rocker Stacee Jaxx in the big screen version of the hit musical were just as hot as Julianne’s.
“The tongue-y-est tongue kiss of all time.” she claims when describing the moment they locked lips.
It sounds like things got pretty hot on screen between the blonde and the ‘Mission Impossible’ star with their kissing going 'Martian'.
“I think we go beyond French at this point. It's like Martian kind,” she told the Today Show.
“I mean in this scene I've come into interview him. She's a Rolling Stones reporter who walks in with a lot of integrity and walks out with none, and half of her clothes. It was insane.”
Despite competing for the spotlight the girls seem to be getting on pretty well and were spotted partying at an exclusive London club until the early hours.
