Their relationship was on shaky ground in last night's Made in Chelsea finale but it sounds like Louise and Spencer's romance is well and truly over as Lou reveals why the couple decided to split...

It sounds like Spencer's new job as leading man on Channel 5's The Bachelor hasn't gone down well with Louise, surprisingly. It was announced last month that Spencer has signed up to find love on the dating show and now Louise has revealed her true feelings on the Chelsea lothario.

Speaking to new! magazine Louise says:

"Me and Spencer obviously aren’t together, but we’re very close friends and we still talk a lot."

"He is single. He’s fully single. He wouldn’t be doing The Bachelor if he wasn’t because I wouldn’t allow it if we were together."

It sounds like the split is still pretty fresh with Lou revealing that she won't be happy if her ex hooks up with someone new on the Channel 5 show:

“If he finds love on the show, it’s not going to make me feel great, but I mean if that’s what he wants...”

The couple spent much of the latest series of MIC flirting it up before finally getting together on a trip to Dubai, behind Jamie Laing's back. Despite risking his friendship with best mate Jamie for Louise, it sounds like Spencer's feelings for hsi Chelsea girl just weren't strong enough. And last night's cosy chat with his ex Caggie Dunlop didn't seem to help matters.

Louise isn't wallowing in the split though, telling new:

"Now that filming’s finished and it’s the summer, I’ve got a lot of plans of my own, so I want to be independent. It wasn’t really a dumping thing. It just kind of happened. It was just a good idea. It was a mutual decision. My degree is my priority at the end of the day."
