Simon Cowell was willing to do “just about anything” to get Britney Spears on The X Factor USA judging panel. The star eventually signed a deal worth a reported $15 million with lots of little perks reserved just for the ‘Boys’ singer.
The TV mogul knew that landing Britney would be a certain ratings winner and with a disappointing first season, the 52 year-old agreed to negotiate terms that were “unheard of” insiders told TMZ to land the troubled star.
But betting so much on Britney being a success with viewers is a risky move, especially with her reputation for being difficult to work with. Simon is taking a huge risk with the singer.
"Simon is a smart and shrewd businessman who knew Britney could make his show and he was willing to give her just about anything to come on board -- and he did." the source revealed.
Auditions started earlier this week but already Britney has a reputation as a diva on set. She reportedly called for one of her special ‘breaks’ after a negative reaction from the crowd “overwhelmed” the singer.
We wonder if Simon will live to regret his decision. Britney is known for her difficult personal life and is currently still under a joint conservatorship between her fiancé Jason Trawick and her father Jamie Spears.
