The Hollywood A List has descended on the south of France for the 65th Cannes Film Festival which kicked off today in the sun soaked Mediterranean resort.
P Diddy, Ewan McGregor, Lana Del Ray and Eva Longoria are among a few of the stars who arrived for the first day of the festival with more stars set to arrive later in the week.
Scottish star Ewan McGregor is one of the nine jurors who will be judging the films and awarding the coveted ‘Palme d’Or’ prize for best picture of the year.
Speaking at a press conference held today he admitted that it was an “enormous honour” to be part of the panel but insisted after years on the other side he wouldn’t abuse his position.
"I don't feel like I'm in some position of great power. There's no feelings of revenge in this," he joked. "It's just a celebration of film."
Fellow juror Diane Kruger looked stunning in a short deep red dress with laced sides as she posed for photos with the ‘Trainspotting’ star.
As well as the films on offer, Cannes also becomes the top party venue in the world during the festival.
Actor Shemar Moore looked like he was getting into the swing of things as he posed topless on a yacht and George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis was spotted sunning herself in a tiny pink bikini.
This year will see the return of Robert Pattinson to Cannes ready for the premiere of the David Cronenberg directed ‘Cosmopolis’.
It is set to go head to head the adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel ‘On The Road’ staring ‘Twilight’ co-star and girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
Controversy has already started around this year's film selection and today jurors defended the decision of the all-male line up for the top honour of film of the year.
