Russell Brand spent some quality time with his beloved mum Barbara in London yesterday as reports claim he tried to rekindle his failed romance with Katy Perry over an email.
According to Grazia Magazine the British comedian sent an email telling his wife of 14 months, who is now dating Florence and The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd that divorcing her a "mistake” and that seeing her move on left him “seething with jealousy”.
“Word has it Russell was ‘seething with jealousy’ when he saw pictures of her with Rob. He apparently feels he gave up on their relationship too easily.” A source told the magazine.
No doubt loyal mum Barbara is helping her son through this difficult time and the couple certainly seemed close as they held hands following a lunch in trendy Notting Hill.
Despite wild antics the 36 year-old is a mummy’s boy at heart and turned to his Barbara when his marriage ended last December.
“Russell and his mum are extremely close," a source told The Sun earlier this year. “She’s always the first person he calls when something happens.”
Russell looked downcast as he emerged in his usual cowboy style dress with leather trousers, cowboy hat and boots.
Clearly the star has yet to move on from his ex-wife and the subject of Katy Perry is a touchy subject.
The comedian wasn't laughing at a gig over the weekend where he angrily attacked a heckler who shouted out Katy's name during a show. After hearing the 'Firework' star's name turned on the audience member throwing insults.
According to The Metro he said: "Despite your physical appearance to an ape you are in fact a human being. I was hoping that your personality was a result of physical beauty and then I saw you."
