Alex Reid won the heart of the nation when he won Celebrity Big Brother and now he wants to do the same on stage as he prepares to go on tour to perform in the stage show, Wildboyz.
The cage-fighter who found fame as a reality TV star sat down with us to talk about why he decided to do Wildboyz - a show about a bunch of friends who are destined for Bali to attend a celebrity party but then find themselves having to strip in a Spanish hotel when the international male strip group, The Wildboyz don't turn up.
Believing that his role in the stage show alongside Marcus Patrick (Hollyoaks) Danny Young (Coronation Street/ Dancing on Ice) and Dale Howard (Big Brother) is a great opportunity for him to get back into acting, Alex, who is expecting a daughter with fiance Chantelle Houghton told us:
"It's a great opportunity to get back into acting", before adding: "I'm a trained actor. I've done films and TV."
Revealing that an "association with a certain somebody" hindered his chances of pursuing a career on the big and small screen, Alex told us that WildBoyz is the perfect show to get him back on track.
He said: "My association with a certain somebody closed so many doors in the acting world for me but I feel now is the right time and it's a great opportunity to get back into acting and who knows, there might be a film around the corner."
