The Wanted star Max George failed to greet fans outside his Los Angeles hotel yesterday following the revelations that he had broken off his engagement to Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan.
Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes happily chatted to waiting fans outside the Mondrion Hotel and posed for photos with the eager ladies but the rest of the boys failed to show.
The Wanted are still riding high in the US charts with their smash hit single ‘Glad You Claim’. They are hoping to build on their success with their next single ‘Chasing The Sun’ and were spotted filming the video with some very scantily clad-models in the city earlier this week.
The band have spent most of 2012 in the US and though their star is climbing Stateside, success has come at a price as yesterday Max George confirmed he is no longer engaged to girlfriend of a year and a half Michelle Keegan.
The revelations came during a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest with the singer telling the US radio host that he was not engaged “anymore.”
The 23 year-old later took to twitter to clear up the confusion over his relationship status.
“Hey everyone, so just to clear up any rumours, me and Shell are still very much together, just there is no wedding," he tweeted.
A spokesperson confirmed to The Metro that they had broken off their engagement due to their careers.
“Michelle and Max are still very much together as a couple. But they are traditionalists and realised that there is no point in being engaged until they are in a position to plan a wedding.”
