Britain’s Got Talent contestant Ryan O'Shaughnessy brought the audience to tears during Saturday night’s show with his heart-breaking song dedicated to his secret love.
The 19 year-old from Dublin sang the ballad he had penned himself to the hushed auditorium in Blackpool and reduced the judges and crowd to quivering wrecks with his emotion filled performance.
The student admitted that it was dedicated to a friend but refused to say her name despite Simon Cowell’s insistence that he revealed the object of Ryan’s affection.
When asked about the inspiration behind the song a bashful Ryan responded: “It’s about a friend of mine that I’ve liked for a few years now so. “She hasn’t heard it yet”.
“So it, it was like a love letter,” Simon asked.
To which Ryan responded: “Close to it yeah.”
After the heart-wrenching performance Simon told the singer songwriter that he had a “promising future” after the audition and was convinced that both his love and career were on the up.
Clearly fans loved it too as twitter was flooded with tweets about the emotional performance with #noname trending worldwide.
Ryan has stayed tight lipped about who the mystery girl is but what is for sure he won’t be short of offers after that performance.
He had 25,000 extra followers only half an hour after the show ended and certainly seemed to be enjoying the attention.
He tweeted shortly after the program: “Thanks for the amazing comments so far u are all amazing and me the world to me who ever shouts me out I will try and follow #bgt. Love u all RT”
