This year’s Oscar nominees turned out for the 84th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton hotel yesterday in Los Angeles.
With the awards only a few weeks away the 150 nominees took to the red carpet at the star studded event.
Best Actor double act George Clooney and Brad Pitt seemed to be enjoying themselves on the red carpet and were later spotted joking with Supporting Actor nominee Jonah Hill who cut a svelte figure after his impressive weight loss.
The pair, who starred in the 'Ocean''s franchise, are known to be good friends and have been teasing one another as they go head to head during the award season.
George won the Golden Globe for his role in ‘The Descendants’ but Brad is hoping to get his own back and beat his friend to the Oscar for his turn in ‘Moneyball’.
First time Leading Actor nominees Gary Oldman and 'The Artist’s' Jean Dujardin were more composed as they arrived at the lavish bash and looked delighted to be amongst the prestigious line up.
The hotly contended best Supporting Actor award was also well represented with 'My Week With Marilyn' star Kenneth Branagh and Max von Sydow who is nominated for his role in ‘Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close’.
Giving fashion fans a taster of what to except at the ceremony on February 26, Best Actress nominee Rooney Mara was stylish in a black blouse and trousers and white blazer. Fellow nominee Viola Davis added a splash of colour with her hot pink halter neck dress.
Meryl Streep, who is hotly tipped to pick up her third Leading Actress Award for her role in the Margaret Thatcher biopic ‘The Iron Lady’ went for a simple yet sophisticated look in a long sleeved black dress. While Glenn Close wore a garish white and blue floral suit.
Michelle Williams showed off her toned legs in the Victoria Beckham ‘Rain Cloud’ dress. The actress, who won a Golden Globe for her role as Hollywood sex siren Marilyn Monroe is a fan of the singer turned designer. She also wore another knee length Victoria Beckham design to a BAFTA event in January.
