Tomorrow (Jan 18) marks the start of another season of American Idol hosted by Ryan Seacrest and featuring Randy Jackson, diva Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler auditioning hopeful singers from all over the US.
American Idol has proved it is still must-see TV, even without the acerbic Simon Cowell on the judging panel, it has held its position at the top of the ratings, despite rival shows including The Voice with Christina Aguilera and Cowell's rebooted singing competition, The X Factor.
Talking about the judges who are all returning for new series, an excited Seacrest said: “The judges … they work so well as a team, yet they’re obviously incredible individuals.
“I think because they’re so different individually, they come together to create the perfect team.”
With 11 seasons under its belt, American Idol has made us laugh, made us cry and launched some really spectacular singers.
