'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' New York Premiere In Photos

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were the main attraction - beyond the small matter of the film itself, of course - as 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' premiered in the US.

Fans gathered outside New York's Ziegfield Theater to get a look at the Hollywood couple, who were in town to see Cruise's first M:I film since 2006's 'Mission: Impossible III'.

Those inside no doubt felt they were getting their worth too, as the film has opened to rave reviews - a rarity for a movie franchise now into its fourth incarnation.

For best results, viewers are advised to see it in IMAX 3D, but it is of course available in all formats.

'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' is released on December 26.
