Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony Split: Should We Have Seen It Coming?

When Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony released a statement declaring they had separated and are set to divorce after seven years of marriage, the world responded with shock.

Avoiding the pre-break-up rumour mill that so many celebrity couples fall victim too, they seemed like the perfect couple. Often seen offering support for one other at red carpet events or lovingly doting over their three year old twins, Max and Emme, we had no idea their marriage was in crisis.

The first sign came just days before the announcement of the split, when Jennifer arrived at the BAFTA Gala without her man by her side, instead accompanied by her mother, Guadalupe Lopez.

The absence of Marc Anthony seemed especially suspect considering the event was also attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Though the couple have stated that the split is 'amicable', this will be tested as they are both contracted to new reality Latin talent show, “Q'Vida”, of which filming is set to commence in 2012.
