Who would have thought that a shrewd media mogul and a popstar would ever have anything in common? But Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole showed the world that they did.
Appointing his new best friend as a judge on the X Factor, it soon became obvious how much Cheryl and Si loved being in each others company. If they weren't giggling and joking with each other during the X Factor, then they were gushing whenever anyone asked them about each other.
Cheryl even revealed in an interview that she "loved" the media mogul even though he was "annoying."
It seemed that nothing could break the bond that these two had after Simon promised Cheryl a job as a judge on the X Factor USA. However, just two weeks after filming for the show began, Cheryl was hit with the news that she had been sacked.
With Simon being partly responsible for what happened, Cheryl soon blamed her former best friend for the humiliation she suffered. And it now appears that the pair will never go back to the way they were with each other, after reports suggested that Simon has "washed his hands of Cheryl."
