Angelina Jolie leaked stories about love rival Jennifer Aniston to make herself look like less of a homewrecker, according to a new book.
Shortly after Brad left his wife for his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star in 2005, stories surfaced in the press that Brad and Jen's marriage ended because she didn't want children.
In 'Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie', journalist Ian Halperin claims that the source of this "misdirection " was Angelina, who was seeking to manage her public image.
"It was Angelina who came up with the whole story about Jennifer not wanting to have kids," a source connected to 20th Century Fox (the studio that produced Mr and Mrs Smith) told the author.
"She was convinced that is the story that would resonate with all these women who saw her as a man-stealing bitch."
When he found out a furious Brad reportedly ordered Angelina to stop spreading lies about his ex-wife.
Halperin also makes the explosive claim that, rather than putting her career before starting a family, Jennifer suffered two miscarriages, in 2003 and 2004, during her marriage to Brad.
