Russell Brand cancelled girlfriend Katy Perry's appearance on a UK TV show so he could spend time with the singer, it's been claimed.
The American star was due to pre-record an interview on the first episode of the new series of Chris Moyles' Quiz Night.
However, Brand is understood to have phoned host Moyles just hours before filming to cancel Perry's slot.
TV bosses were apparently left scrambling for a replacement for the I Kissed A Girl star.
"Katy was due to be the star guest on Chris's show,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
"But he got a call from Russell late the night before telling him Katy wouldn't be appearing as they wanted to spend the evening together.
"Chris was a bit annoyed but thinks Katy is hot as well - and if she was his girlfriend he would probably do the same."
Brand and Perry have been almost inseparable since their hooked up at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York in September.
The second series of Chris Moyles' Quiz Night is due to begin on screens in February 2010.
